The Purpose of Marriage.

Many young people confuse wedding with marriage. There is this desire in every one to get a loving person to become lovers with that will eventually lead to marriage. Being in love is one of the sweetest experiences that can bring about a lot of unforgettable sweet memories. When you fall in love with a person, that person become irresistible to you. There is this butterfly that tingles within you whenever you are around that person. Your heart being occupied with the thought of spending the rest of your life with that person is everything that will matter to you.

But before this loving relationship can eventually culminate into a life time commitment. It is expected of the two love birds to organise a ceremony inviting people to be witnesses to their life time vow and commitment of love to each other.

Earlier I had attended the solemnization of the holy matrimony of a friend of ours and I could feel love and happiness in the atmosphere.

You and I know that the wedding day is one of the happiest day in the couples lives. It’s a day of joy where the couple never envisage challenges that lies ahead in marriage. I hope you will agree with me that wedding and marriage are two things.

Wedding is just a celebration that lasts for some few hours. The wedding celebration last for some few hours and then comes the big journey – marriage.

If you ask many young people why they want to go into marriage, you may be surprise that many will tell you that they just love to be in their beautiful wedding dress, while some may say that their reason is because they are tired of being controlled by their parents or siblings, while some will say that they are ripe for marriage of which they may have little or no knowledge of what marriage is all about.

What is the essence of marriage from the world’s perspective? The world’s perspective of marriage is that marriage is just for fun. Those fun include sex and buying and receiving of gifts. Well, to some extent these things also make marriage sweet but that is not the ultimate reason for marriage.

What is the purpose of marriage according to the word of God? Genesis 2:18-25.

The purpose of marriage is for companionship. The purpose of marriage is for multiplication. According to Genesis 1:27-28. God’s purpose for marriage is for the two to complement each other and to help each other grow.

Here what pastor David Bayo of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Day Star Parish said about the purpose of Marriage. He said,
The purpose of marriage is to establish what God has said concerning marriage. And he gave Seven purpose of marriage.

The 7 Purpose of marriage:
M- Migration
A- Agreement and adjustment
R- Responsibility
R- Responsibility
I – Intimacy
A- Accountability matt2:32-33
G- Growth
E – Edify…married couples are to build and complement each other”.

As a single planning to be married, you need to start asking yourself about the kind of marriage you desire God to give to you.

Marriage is an assignment.

Marriage is a mystery therefore as a single, you must lift it up to the Holy Spirit to unveil to you.

And as a married couple, you need to begin to run your marriage according to God’s desire which can only be found in Jesus through thorough study of the Bible together.

Remember, the true purpose of marriage is to show forth the Glory of God.

I pray God make our Marriage beautiful in Jesus name.

Baby Making Mistakes

ATGBabyMakingMistakes.

Topic: 10 Common Baby-Making Mistakes/ Practices/ Myths. (Especially for TTCs).
Overview.
So, you have been seeking/longing to have babies. You can’t wait to feel that special amazing bond of becoming a parent. But out of desperation and anxiety, you are limiting your chances of becoming a mother/ father. Below, we will discuss 10 common mistakes couples make while trying to conceive. Come walk with me!
Mistake No. 1: Not Having Enough Sex.
This surprisingly tops the list of common mistakes by couples. Luckily this mistake is very amenable and easy to fix! Some women feel, there is need to cut down on sex in order to “save” your guy’s sperm — or alternatively only having sex when you’re ovulating! Some women believe this wrong notion! Some think this practice will make getting pregnant easier.
But truth is, many days of not having sex can throw off conception. Go have sex, it will increase your chances of making babies! “It’s easy to miss the fertile period if sex is limited only to when you think you’re ovulating because many women believe they’re ovulating when they actually aren’t,” says. So PLEASE, to increase your chances, go ahead – have plenty sex as often as you like, paying special attention
to your fertile days, which can fluctuate!
Mistake No. 2: Having Too Much Sex.
Some couples think they have conception all figured out: The more sex you have, the easier and sooner you’ll conceive. But more isn’t always better. Although having sex frequently won’t decrease the potency of a man’s sperm, as many believe, it too often can potentially cause problems, “If it’s for reproductive purposes alone, having sex multiple times a day or even every single day could cause ‘burnout,’ and the couple may begin to view sex as little more than a pre-ovulatory chore, Then, when that window of fertility is open, one or both of the partners may not be interested, resulting in a missed opportunity.
Mistake No. 3: Sticking with the Same Position.
You may have heard that missionary is the best position to get pregnant, or that you should keep your hips elevated after sex. Wrong. Whether you’re on top, your guy is on top, or you’re doing a crazy new position you read about, the result is the same. “When a man ejaculates, sperm swims out, goes directly into the cervical mucus and into the fallopian tubes,”. “This happens in a matter of seconds, regardless of the position during intercourse. So, instead of sticking with one particular thing, mix it up and have fun!
Mistake No. 4: Assuming the Woman is the Problem.
When a couple has a difficult time getting pregnant, many people (couples included) automatically think it means something is physically wrong with the woman. “Men are less likely to believe or to want to believe something is wrong with them. “Because fluids will come out, whether there’s sperm there or not, they assume it means they’re fertile,”.
But that’s not necessarily the case. From day one, couples need to think it could be the woman, the man, both, or simply unexplained infertility,” “About half of infertility issues have to do with the woman, 40 percent with the man, and the other 10 percent is both or neither.” The best thing, she adds, is for both partners to be assessed from the beginning to know for sure.
Mistake No. 6: Having Sex the Day of Ovulation Only.
If you have an ovulation predictor kit, or if you’re charting your basal body temperature or using the calendar method to try to identify ovulation, you may think it makes sense to get physical the day of ovulation — but that may be too late. After ovulation, the egg can be fertilized for only about 24 hours.
If you’re wrong about ovulation, you’ll have to wait to try again the next month. Because sperm can live for three to five days, having sex in the few days leading up to ovulation will increase your chances of getting pregnant, experts say.
Mistake No. 6: Mistiming Ovulation
Knowing exactly when you ovulate can be tricky. Many women follow the textbook rule, believing they ovulate 14 days after the first day of their period, but cycle lengths vary, and ovulation doesn’t always occur at the same time each month, Many women also think they can pinpoint ovulation because of symptoms.
“If you’re in tune with your body, you may notice that you have an increased clear egg-white-like vaginal discharge a few days before ovulation. But many women miss this, and some mistakenly think their normal discharge is a sign of ovulation. Instead of guessing (possibly wrong using an ovulation predictor kit can give a more accurate answer.
Mistake No. 7: Using Lubricant
Think twice next time you reach for the lube. Commercial lubricants negatively affect sperm motility, making it harder for the sperm to reach the egg. If you must use a lube, try Pre-Seed, a sperm-friendly lubricant. Or if you prefer a more natural lube, olive oil, vegetable oil, baby oil, and even egg whites are safe and effective.
Mistake No. 8: Rushing to a Specialist
After two or three months of trying, it’s easy to get frustrated. That doesn’t mean an immediate appointment with a fertility specialist is in order. “Even under ideal conditions, perfectly fertile couples can take several months to become pregnant,” Dr. Wood assures. If you’re under 35, with regular menstrual cycles and no underlying health issues that might affect fertility, Dr. Wood advises waiting it out for one year.
Mistake No. 9: Not Getting Help Soon Enough.
In some instances, seeing a fertility doc sooner rather than later is the best move. “If you’re 35 or older, you should see a fertility specialist after six months of trying without success,”. And if you’re younger and have irregular periods or a history of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), ectopic pregnancy, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), or other health issues that may affect fertility or pregnancy it’s a good idea to seek out a specialist right away.
Mistake No. 10: Neglecting Your General Health.
Often, when couples are trying to conceive, they focus so intensely on their reproductive health, they neglect their overall health. It becomes all about cervical mucus, sperm count, and doing the do. But it’s important to pay attention to your health in general because issues like weight, smoking, stress, and medications can affect fertility too. Before trying to conceive, it’s a good idea for both you and your guy to have a medical checkup to discuss any issues that may affect fertility or pregnancy.
