NOTHING LAST FOREVER

Have you ever wondered why sometimes you feel like you are flying, you feel you are at the top and all of a sudden this feeling of emptiness and hopelessness just sets in.

There are also times when you feel like there is no mountain you cannot climb and truly you just see yourself doing the impossible; and all of a sudden you just see yourself as if you have come to the end of the road.

There are times you feel you are down and then suddenly things will begin to work in your favor possibly because of someone you are not expecting just showing some kindness to you.

Have you ever thought about the fact that your grand mum and grand dad were sometimes the most beautiful and most handsome. Could you believe that they were sometime been envied by their friends because of the favour they might have received in respect of their beautiful and handsome looks in those years. But what can you say about their looks today? Can you still call them sweet sixteen or the most Beautiful? I believe your answer is no.

This is why life is in stages and in phases. And I have come to realise that the greatest enemy of beauty is time. And time wasted cannot be recovered. Money lost can be recovered but you can never regain the time wasted.

It is with deep sense of responsibility I write to you in order for you to sit down and look critically at the way you are living your daily life. Are you making good use of the gift( time) that God has graciously given to you or are you just wasting yourself all in the name of what you think you possess now.

No wonder the psalmist prayed to God in Psalms 90:12, ” So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom”.

You may be thinking that you have arrived but remember: ‘ nothing last forever’. Despite how influential and wealthy King Solomon of the Bible was. There was nothing he did not taste in this life- if it was women, he had them in their large number, if it was wisdom, he was the wisest King, if it was affluence, he had it. But at the end of it all he screamed in Ecclesiastes 12:8, ” Vanity of vanity, saith the preacher, all is vanity”.

I will bring this writing to an end with the conclusion of King Solomon about life. He said in Ecclesiastes 12:13, ” Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: fear God, and keep his commandments for this is the whole duty of man”.
