Your Purpose: Your heritage.

Thank You Lord God Almighty for your kindness and love towards us. We bless and worship your holy name for this tremendous grace bestowed upon us to be called ‘Yours’. Thank You so much, for creating us in your image to fulfill your plan and purpose for our lives. Thank you so much because your word will shine great light on our path this day. Please accept our thanks in Jesus name. Amen.

”The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand” – Isaiah 14:24

What is purpose? Purpose is the reason for which something exists or is done or created.

You were in the thought of God and he had a specific reason for creating you. You are not here by accident neither are you here by guess work. You were not here because your parent had a great plan to conceive you when you were conceived. God is the reason why you came when you came.

You are not created by God to fulfill some other peoples assignments; you were created to fulfill your own specific assignment. This is why it is very important for you and I to discover the ‘why’ for our existence.

You can not and can never discover your purpose by simply asking yourself some questions just as some philosophers suggest. You can only discover your purpose from God in His word. You can only discover your purpose by having a close relationship with God who is your manufacturer – your maker.

Nothing matters more than knowing God’s purpose for your life, and nothing can compensate for not knowing it – not success, achievements, wealth, fame, pleasure.

Without a purpose, life is motion without meaning, activity without direction, and events without reason. Life is trivial, useless and pointless without a purpose.

You become a busy body without a clear purpose. Knowing your purpose gives meaning to your life. Rick Warren said, ” The greatest tragedy is not death, but life without purpose”.

Knowing your purpose simplifies your life. It defines what you do and what you don’t do. Your purpose becomes the standard you use to evaluate which activities are essential and which are not. It gives you the sense of reasoning to ask yourself quality questions like: ” Does this activity help me fulfill one of God’s purposes for my life?

You don’t try to do too much when you know your purpose. ” People who don’t know their purpose try to do too much – and that causes stress, fatigue, and conflict.

Without a clear purpose you have no foundation on which to base decisions, allocate your time, and use your resources. You will tend to make choices based on circumstances, pressure, and your mood at that moment.

Do you know who you are in God? The Bible says, ” But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” – 1 Peter 2:9
